Greedy for Gelato

As if eating those HUGE burgers from Carnaby Burger Co. wasn't enough, my rather insatiable appetite meant that somehow I was still hungry! So naturally, I started thinking about desert...

A few steps away on Archer Street is the brainchild of owner and executive chef Jacob Kenedy, Gelupo. Now this guy is more than just good ... he's great! Or at least his gelato is!

Now the queue for this place is often out the door, but I promise you the wait is most definitely worth it.

And whilst you're waiting, feast your eyes on all the goodies they have lining their shelves. From jars of jam, to bottles of syrup and tins of biscotti, you're sure to find something that catches your fancy here!

And soon enough, you'll be ready to tuck into some creamy gelato or smooth sorbet! Literally happiness in a scoop.

Their flavours are always changing, and are beautifully experimental and unique. This week I had amaretti and apricot and topped it off with snickers gelato (I told you I was having an indulgent day ... or week). Such an elegant creamy, apricot flavour laced with almond liquer, and then the rich chocolate and caramel with whole toasted peanuts. My evening couldn't have gone any better.

Luckily, however, there were a bunch of us there, so not only was I so greedy and ate a whole two scoops (they're generous too!) but I tried so many other flavours too: blood orange sorbet, grapefruit sorbet, pistachio gelato, avocado sorbet (unbelievable!). And the menu doesn't stop there - they do granita, drinks, cakes ... the whole lot!

Trust me, this side of Italy - this place is home to the best gelato in town! So when you're needing something to cool off in this heatwave, or you just want to treat yourself. This is the place to do it.

Happy tasting xx
