I've eaten out a lot this weekend as I had two days off in-between this run of on-call shifts, so I definitely had to make the most of it! But although that was so good for my tummy, it probably wasn't the best idea for my skin!
After an indulgent evening I try to start the next day off in a healthy way. I usually do this on weekend mornings to try and create some sort of reprieve for all the sins I'm sure I'll commit as the weekend goes on; but I'm pre-night shifts today, so this is in anticipation of all the caffeine and sugar that is going to get me through this week!

Enter: The Detox Juice.
There are a few key ingredients: spinach or kale, ginger, celery and lime. The rest is really for a touch of sweetness (usually I use apples) and anything else you like (I tend to add carrots - I'm not sure why but I've always liked carrot juice, even when I was tiny!). And then I really just throw in all the other boring green goodies that I have left over from the week, so it's always slightly different.
This really is the easiest thing - just throw all the veggies and fruit in a juicer and voilĂ - in a couple of minutes you have a whole load of nutrients and all the good stuff in one glass! I've really noticed the benefit just by having this on weekend mornings; my skin is clearer and has better tone, and my hair is stronger! Massive wins in my book!
I had mine this morning sat on the patio in my pjs! It was so lovely, sitting out in the glorious sunshine, that I just had to make the most of it ... I felt so rejuvenated that Mr Zerodays and I decided we'd go for a casual morning stroll and ended up at this beautiful little lake where we had our second breakfast of bagels and croissants! (I told you I was preparing for a week of sugar and calories!)
